GSMA Launches Open Gateway Initiative to Provide Universal Access to Mobile Network APIs for Developers

GSMA launches Open Gateway, an initiative that provides universal access to operator networks for developers via a framework of universal network APIs. The initiative has launched with support from 21 mobile network operators and will provide a catalyst for immersive technologies and Web3. Developers and cloud providers can access enhanced network capabilities and deploy services more quickly through the GSMA Open Gateway's single points of access to operator networks. This is achieved via common, northbound service APIs that expose mobile operators' network capabilities within a consistent, interoperable and federated framework. Eight universal network APIs are included in the initiative, with plans to launch further APIs throughout 2023.
